On January 14, 2026, The National Auto Loan Network (NALN), a Tustin, California-based firm specializing in auto loan refinancing, fell victim to a significant ransomware attack attributed to the Nova ransomware group. The threat actors allegedly exfiltrated approximately 600 GB of sensitive data, utilizing a double-extortion strategy that involved both encrypting internal systems and threatening the public release of customer information.
